OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's optioned right-handed pitchers Michael Brady and Zach Neal to Nashville, the club announced today. Corresponding moves will be announced prior to Friday's series opener against the New York Mets at Citi Field.
Brady was selected from Nashville June 17 and had no decisions and a 3.18 ERA in seven games with the A's in his Major League debut. He walked just two batters in 11.1 innings while striking out 10. Brady is 3-1 with a 3.67 ERA and .217 opponents batting average in 14 games, six starts, with the Sounds.
Neal has no decisions and a 7.98 ERA in six relief appearances over two stints with Oakland. He was recalled for his most recent stay on July 2 and pitched just once, tossing a scoreless inning on July 7 at Seattle. Neal is 1-4 with a 4.09 ERA in 12 games, including seven starts, with Nashville.
