OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s reinstated right-handed pitcher Blake Treinen from the 10-day injured list and designated right-handed pitcher Aaron Brooks for assignment, the club announced today.

Treinen was 2-2 with 16 saves and a 4.08 ERA in 30 relief appearances when he was placed on the 10-day IL June 23 retroactive to June 21 with a strained right shoulder. After logging a 2.59 ERA over his first 19 games, he posted a 7.36 ERA over his final 11 contests before going on the IL. Treinen made one rehab appearance for Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday and allowed three runs on four hits, including two home runs, in one inning of relief.

Brooks began the season in the A’s starting rotation and went 2-3 with a 5.74 ERA in six starts before moving to the bullpen in May. He logged a 3.79 ERA in nine relief appearances and was 2-3 with a 5.01 ERA in 15 games overall. Brooks was acquired from Milwaukee for cash on Sept. 3, 2018.
