Blue Jays to celebrate Canada Day presented by Honda in front of sold out crowd

The Toronto Blue Jays will celebrate Canada Day presented by Honda at Rogers Centre, Friday July 1st as they take on the Cleveland Indians at 1:07pm. The game is SOLD OUT; however some tickets could be released within 24 hours prior to first pitch.

The Toronto Blue Jays will celebrate Canada Day presented by Honda at Rogers Centre, Friday July 1st as they take on the Cleveland Indians at 1:07pm. The game is SOLD OUT; however some tickets could be released within 24 hours prior to first pitch. 
 
Fans are encouraged to get to the ballpark early. The first 20,000 fans will receive a Blue Jays Canada Day Towel presented by Honda. Outside the ballpark, the Blue Jays will celebrate Canada's birthday with festivities around the stadium beginning at 9:30am - 12:45pm. In-game activities continue with Canadian themed giveaways and entertainment.
 
During the pregame ceremonies, the Blue Jays will proudly honour the Canadian Armed Forces. Newly appointed Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy, Vice Admiral Ron Lloyd will participate in the ceremonies along with The Royal Canadian Dragoons, Canada's Senior Cavalry Regiment based out of CFB Petawawa. Accompanying these members will be an additional 225 members carrying the Canadian Flag. Sergeant Cindy Scott will sing the anthems as the Blue Jays give thanks to the men and women who protect and serve our country.
 
Pregame the Blue Jays will also recognize and wish good luck to 14 Canadian Olympians and Paralympians competing in the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The athletes will be welcomed on field as part of the Canada Day ceremonies.
 
During the game, Rogers Centre will go red and one lucky fan will become the proud owner of a new 2016 Honda Civic EX sedan, courtesy of Honda Canada. Prior to racing at the Honda Indy Toronto later in July, driver and proud Canadian James Hinchcliffe will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. In-game, the activities will continue with Canadian-themed giveaways and entertainment.
 
The team will wear a new 2016 Blue Jays Canada Day red jersey and special edition red Canada Day cap. The new 2016 Canada Day Blue Jays red jersey is available at all Jays Shop retail locations and online at www.jaysshop.ca. Additionally the Cleveland Indians will wear a Canadian flag sleeve patch to honour Canada Day as part of a reciprocal country tribute this year. The Blue Jays will wear a United States flag sleeve patch on US Independence Day on July 4th.
