Braves sign Josh Tomlin to a Minor League contract

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL -- The Atlanta Braves today signed RHP Josh Tomlin to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Major League Spring Training.

Tomlin, 34, appeared in five games this spring with Milwaukee, making three starts and going 2-1 with a 4.80 ERA (8 ER/15.0 IP). He joined the Brewers on a Minor League deal on Feb. 7 of this year. 

Prior to this season, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound righthander spent his entire professional career with Cleveland after the club selected him in the 19th round of the 2006 draft out of Texas Tech University. The native of Tyler, TX went 2-5 with a 6.14 ERA (48 ER/70.1 IP) in 32 games, nine starts, for Cleveland last season, and over parts of nine Major League seasons, Tomlin is 61-53 with a 4.77 ERA (476 ER/898.2 IP).
