Major League Baseball today announced details for the ceremonial and off-field activities of Game Five of the 2016 World Series, which will be hosted by the National League Champion Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. The 112th Fall Classic between the Cubs and the American League Champion Cleveland Indians continues tonight, Sunday, October 30th, with live coverage beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET on FOX.
RYNE SANDBERG TO THROW CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCH: Hall of Famer and Cubs Legend Ryne Sandberg will throw the ceremonial first pitch of Game Five. Sandberg is a 10-time MLB All-Star and won the 1984 National League MVP Award.
DOUBLE-DUTY PERFORMANCE BY MESSMER: Former Cubs PA announcerWayne Messmer will make an encore performance at this World Series as he doubles up during pre-game ceremonies for Game Five. The regular Wrigley Field performer will sing both "God Bless America" and the U.S. National Anthem. The Color Guard for tonight's anthem will be the United States Coast Guard Marine Safety Unity of Chicago.
7th INNING STRETCH: Eddie Vedder, Cubs fan and lead singer for the legendary rock band Pearl Jam, will sing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" from the Wrigley Field press box.
GAME BALL DELIVERY: Freddie Morales, 16, from the Miguel A. Barreto Branch of Union League Boys & Girls Club in Chicago, will deliver the official game ball to the mound with Hall of Famer and Cubs Legend Andre Dawson. Morales is a junior at Roberto Clemente High School.
