Rockies place Gray on 10-day DL; Parra on paternity list

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have placed right-handed pitcher Jon Gray on the 10-day disabled list due to a left foot stress fracture and assigned outfielder Gerardo Parra to the paternity list.

SAN FRANCISCO - The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have placed right-handed pitcher Jon Gray on the 10-day disabled list due to a left foot stress fracture and assigned outfielder Gerardo Parra to the paternity list.
The club recalled right-handed pitcher Shane Carle and outfielder Raimel Tapia from Triple-A Albuquerque. Carle will wear jersey number 29, while Tapia will be No. 7. Both are expected to be in uniform tonight for the 8:15 p.m. MDT game at San Francisco's AT&T Park.
Carle, 25, has made two appearances for Albuquerque this season, allowing five hits and four runs in three innings combined … for his professional career going back to 2013, he is 24-25 with a 3.98 ERA (468.1 IP, 207 ER) with 95 walks and 320 strikeouts over 97 games, including 73 starts … he was drafted by Pittsburgh in 2013 and acquired by the Rockies from the Pirates for right-handed pitcher Rob Scahill on Nov. 11, 2014 … Carle is a native of Santa Cruz., Calif., and attended Long Beach State. Tapia, 23, is hitting .406 (13-for-32) over his seven games with Albuquerque … he has six doubles, six RBI, nine runs and four walks … Tapia made his Major League debut last September, playing in 22 games … he hit .263 (10-for-38) with four runs, three RBI and three stolen bases while with Colorado … he was signed as a non-drafted international free agent on Nov. 29, 2010. Gray, 25, left Thursday's game against the San Francisco Giants in the top of the fourth inning due to the injury to his left foot … this year he has no decisions over his three starts while posting a 4.38 ERA (12.1 IP, 6 ER) with seven walks and nine strikeouts … in 41 starts, Gray has a career Major League record of 10-12 with a 4.76 ERA (221.0 IP, 117 ER) with 80 walks and 234 strikeouts since making his debut in 2015. Parra, who turns 30 on May 6, is batting .343 (12-for-35) with one double, one home run, six RBI, and three runs scored … lifetime, he is a .275 hitter (1,025-for-3,729) with 477 runs, 210 doubles, 40 triples, 64 home runs and 356 RBI across parts of 10 seasons with Arizona (2009-14), Milwaukee (2014-15), Baltimore (2015) and Colorado (2015-16).
