PHOENIX - Following tonight's game, the Arizona Diamondbacks optioned LHP Anthony Banda (BAHN-duh) to Triple-A Reno. Arizona will make a corresponding move prior to tomorrow's game.
Banda, 23, made his Major League debut tonight vs. Nationals, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits with 5 strikeouts over 5.2 innings.
He entered 2017 as the D-backs' No. 1 Prospect by both Baseball America and MLB.com and was the D-backs' 2016 Minor League Pitcher of the Year after going 10-6 with a 2.88 ERA between Double-A Mobile and Reno.
