Dodgers Recall LHP Caleb Ferguson

LOS ANGELES –The Los Angeles Dodgers today recalled left-handed pitcher Caleb Ferguson and placed left-handed pitcher Scott Alexander on the 10-day injured list, retroactive June 8, with left forearm inflammation.

Ferguson, 22, returns for his second stint with the team after making his first career Opening Day roster. In 17 games (one start) for the Dodgers, he is 0-1 with 5.94 ERA (11 ER/16.2 IP) and 16 strikeouts. The Columbus, Ohio native was optioned on May 27 and appeared in six games for Triple-A Oklahoma City, posting a 0.00 ERA (0 ER/6.0 IP) with 11 strikeouts. In his two seasons with the Dodgers, he is a combined 7-3 with two saves and a 4.11 ERA (30 ER/65.2 IP). 

Alexander, 29, will make his first trip to the injured list this season after appearing in 28 games for the Dodgers. The southpaw is 3-2 with a 3.63 ERA (7 ER/17.1 IP) and nine strikeouts for the Dodgers this year. Since joining Los Angeles in 2018, he has posted a 5-3 mark with a 3.67 ERA (34 ER/83.1 IP) and 65 strikeouts. He is in his fifth Major League season and has a 10-7 overall record with a 3.20 ERA (63 ER/177.1 IP).
