Dodgers reinstate Ferguson; option Chargois, Gale

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers today reinstated left-handed pitcher Caleb Ferguson from the 10-day injured list and optioned pitcher J.T. Chargois and catcher Rocky Gale to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Ferguson, 22, missed the last 16 games with a strained oblique and on the season is 0-1 with a 3.46 ERA (5 ER/13.0 IP) with 14 strikeouts in 14 games (one start). He made two rehab appearances for Triple-A Oklahoma City (May 10 and May 13), allowing just one hit and striking out three in 2.0 innings. In two seasons with the Dodgers, Ferguson is 7-3 with a 3.48 ERA (24 ER/62.0 IP) and 73 strikeouts in 42 games (four starts). 

Chargois was recalled on Tuesday and was active for two games in which he did not appear. In three Major League seasons, he has posted a 3-5 mark with a 4.11 ERA (26 ER/57.0 IP) with 58 strikeouts and 28 walks.

Gale, 31, played in four games during his first stint with the Dodgers from April 10-26 and went 0-for-1 on May 12 after being recalled May 10 when Travis d’Arnaud was traded to Tampa Bay. In two seasons with the Dodgers, Gale has logged eight games and is 2-for-17 with a run scored.
