Giants trade catcher Erik Kratz to Tampa Bay

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Giants announced today that they have traded catcher Erik Kratz and cash considerations to the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Kratz, 38, hit .125 (4-for-32) with one home run and three RBI in 15 games for San Francisco in 2019. He was acquired by the Giants on March 24 from Milwaukee in exchange for IF C.J. Hinojosa.

In 311 career Major League games across parts of 10 seasons, Kratz has hit .208 with 34 doubles, 31 home runs and 101 RBI.
