Mariners open 2020 season at T-Mobile Park against the Texas Rangers on Thursday, March 26

Interleague matchups include Braves, Nationals and Phillies in Seattle; Travel to Mets and Marlins

The Seattle Mariners will open the 2020 home season at T-Mobile Park on Thursday, March 26, against the Texas Rangers. The opening homestand includes a four-game set against the Rangers through Sunday, March 29, followed by a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins (March 30-April 1).

The Mariners today released the 2020 tentative regular season schedule, coinciding with Major League Baseball's announcement of 2020 tentative schedules for all 30 teams.

Interleague Play

American League West Division teams will meet National League East Division teams in interleague play in 2020. The Mariners first home interleague matchup will be April 13-14, against the Washington Nationals. The Atlanta Braves visit T-Mobile Park for a three game weekend series May 29-31, and the Philadelphia Phillies visit Seattle the holiday weekend of July 3-5.

The Mariners will travel to Washington, DC, to meet the Nationals for two games May 19-20, to Miami for a three-game series against the Marlins June 5-7, and to New York to play the Mets July 17-19.

There are also two road and two home games against the National League West Padres at San Diego September 1-2, and in Seattle September 14-15.

For only the third time since 2010, the Mariners will wrap up the regular season on the road with a trip to the Los Angeles Angels (September 22-24) and Texas Rangers (September 25-27).

Schedule Notes of Interest

  • The Boston Red Sox have a four-game series at T-Mobile Park April 9-12, and the New York Yankees play in Seattle June 1-3.
  • In their first 19 home games, March 26 through May 3, the Mariners have three series against American League West rivals (Rangers, Los Angeles Angels and Houston Astros) and two against teams currently in contention for postseason play (Division or Wild Card) with the Twins and Nationals.
