The Pittsburgh Pirates announced the Club’s “Team of the Game, presented by Nike” initiative celebrating area youth baseball/softball teams will take place throughout the 2019 season. The season-long initiative returns for the third season as an element of the Pirates PLAY BALL youth baseball/softball efforts in which the Pirates host an area youth team each Tuesday home game throughout the season.

Youth baseball and softball organizations interested in taking part in the Team of the Game, presented by Nike, program may email the Pirates at [email protected] and explain why their team should be a Team of the Game. All area youth baseball and softball teams, whose players are ages 18 and under, within the greater Pittsburgh area are encouraged to apply.

Throughout the season, each team selected as a Pirates PLAY BALL Team of the Game will receive complimentary tickets to a designated Tuesday game; Aramark food vouchers, and the players and coaches will be recognized on the field during pregame ceremonies with a member of Pirates management and a Pirates player.

Last night, the Pirates hosted the first Team of the Game night of 2019 as the Club hosted the Pittsburgh Urban Impact at PNC Park.
