Bassitt was injured in the second inning of the game last night at Chicago when he was hit by a Brian Goodwin line drive. He is 12-4 with a 3.22 ERA in 25 starts and is currently leading the American League in wins. Bassitt, who was named to his first All-Star team this year, also tops the AL in innings pitched (151.0) and games started, ranks second in opponents OPS (.628), slugging percentage (.351) and winning percentage (.750), third in ERA, on-base percentage (.277) and batting average (.219) and sixth in strikeouts (154).

Blackburn has spent the entire season at Las Vegas where he is 4-7 with a 4.97 ERA and .311 opponents batting average in 17 games, including 16 starts. He has struck out 80 and walked 27 in 88.2 innings. The 27-year-old right-hander ranks second in the Triple-A West in innings pitched, tied for second in games started and fifth in ERA and strikeouts. Blackburn made his Major League debut with Oakland in 2017 and has spent parts of each of the previous four seasons with the A’s, going 5-7 with a 5.69 ERA in 21 games, including 18 starts. Blackburn had two stints with Oakland last year and made one start in the second game of the Sept. 26 doubleheader against Seattle when he allowed seven runs on five hits and two walks in 2.1 innings for the loss.
