Brad LaRosa named PCL Athletic Trainer of the Year by PBATS

OAKLAND, Calif. – Las Vegas Aviators athletic trainer Brad LaRosa has been selected as the Pacific Coast League Athletic Trainer of the Year for the 2019 season, as voted on by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society. This is his third such honor since joining the A’s organization.

The awards are given annually to one member of each of the 16 leagues in Minor League Baseball, as well as one award for the Dominican Summer League. An additional award is given to the Minor League Coordinator of the Year.

LaRosa is in his 12th season with the Oakland A’s Triple-A Affiliate. He previous spent five years as an athletic trainer at the Double-A level for the St. Louis Cardinals and Florida Marlins organizations. He was named the Pacific Coast League Athletic Trainer of the Year in 2012 and 2016, the Texas League Athletic Trainer of the Year in 2006 and 2007, and the PBATS Minor League Athletic Trainer of the Year in 2007.

All 16 league winners, the Dominican Summer League winner and the Minor League Coordinator of the Year are eligible for the prestigious Minor League Athletic Trainer of the Year award that will be voted upon by the full membership of PBATS. The award will be presented at the 2019 Major League Baseball Winter Meetings in San Diego later this year.
