PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated RHP Taylor Widener from the 10-day injured list (strained right rib cage). Following last night’s game, the D-backs optioned RHP Joel Payamps to the Alternate Training Site.

Widener, 25, was placed on the 10-day injured list on Aug. 31. In 10 relief appearances, he is 0-1 with a 4.42 ERA (9 ER in 18.1 IP) with a .185 opponent average and 20 strikeouts.

Payamps, 26, has 2 relief appearances ­­this season.
