Guardians invite RHP Enyel De Los Santos to Major League camp

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Guardians today announced the signing of free agent RHP ENYEL DE LOS SANTOS to a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to Major League camp. 

De Los Santos, 25, split the 2021 season between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, posting a Major League ERA of 6.37 over 33 relief appearances (35.1IP, 43H, 25ER, 18BB, 48SO, 12.2 SO/9 IP). The San Pedro de Macoris native made his ML debut with the Phillies in 2018 after going 10-5 with a 2.63 ERA in 22 starts at Triple-A Lehigh Valley (126.2IP, 104H, 37ER, 110SO), starting the International League All-Star Game and participating in the SiriusXM Futures Game in Washington D.C. on his way to postseason Triple-A All-Star honors (Baseball America). He began his career in 2014 in the Seattle organization, was traded the following season to San Diego and landed in Philadelphia via trade prior to the 2018 campaign. He spent five 2021 stints with the Phillies before being claimed on waivers by the Pirates on Sept. 13, spending the rest of the season with Pittsburgh. He currently sports 8.0 scoreless innings for Licey in the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM, 3H, 2BB, 13SO, .120 avg).
