August 22nd, 2019

Cleveland, OH—The Cleveland Indians today announced the Strike Out Hunger campaign, presented by Meijer, at Progressive Field from August 23-25 benefiting the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is celebrating its 40th anniversary and is looking to raise $40,000 during the Indians three-game series against Kansas City.

There will be multiple ways Indians fans can get involved with Strike Out Hunger around the ballpark this weekend. Each dollar donated helps provide four nutritious meals:

  • Bring non-perishable food donations to collection bins at each gate entrance
  • Donate money to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank table behind section 157 (5 p.m. – 7th inning on Friday and Saturday, 12 p.m. – 7th inning on Sunday)
  • Fans who donate $20-or-more will receive an autographed player photo, while supplies last
  • Donate online at www.GreaterClevelandFoodBank.org/Indians

Tribe players will be heavily involved in the Strike Out Hunger campaign, as OF TYLER NAQUIN will be at Market Square at Crocker Park on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. signing autographs for fans who donate $20-or-more.

As part of Major League Baseball’s Teammates for Life initiative, 2B JASON KIPNIS donated a $5,000 contribution that will benefit the Greater Cleveland Food Bank this weekend.
