PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled RHP Joel Payamps and INF/OF Josh VanMeter (@VanMeter15) from the Alternate Training Site, placed INF/OF Ketel Marte on the 10-day injured list (left wrist inflammation) and optioned LHP Joe Mantiply to the Alternate Training Site.

Payamps, 26, has made 1 appearance for the D-backs this season, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) over 2.0 innings on Sept. 1 @ Dodgers.

VanMeter, 25, who will wear No. 19, has played parts of the last 2 seasons with the Reds (2019-20), hitting .214 (56-for-262) with 14 doubles, 1 triple, 9 home runs and 24 RBI in 109 games. He was acquired on Aug. 31 from the Reds with OF Stuart Fairchild for RHP Archie Bradley and cash considerations.

Marte, 26, was hitting .290 (47-for-162) with 13 doubles, 2 home runs and 14 RBI in 40 games with the D-backs this season.

Mantiply, 29, has pitched in 4 games in his first season with Arizona.
