Fans at Mariners games required to wear masks in indoor areas of T-Mobile Park

Policy complies with the latest Department of Health order due to recent surge of COVID-19 cases in Washington

August 23rd, 2021

Guests ages five and older attending Seattle Mariners games and other events at T-Mobile Park are required to comply with the latest order from the Washington State Department of Health requiring masks in all indoor areas of the ballpark. The order was issued in response to a surge in new cases of COVID-19, including the highly transmissible Delta variant. The order takes effect on Monday, August 23. The first Mariners game after that date is Thursday, August 26, against the Kansas City Royals.

The mask mandate applies to fans ages five and older who are in public areas such as Team Stores, bathrooms, indoor clubs and restaurants such as the All-Star Club, Diamond Club and Terrace Clubs, as well as indoor concourse areas such as the Terrace Club and Suite Level.

Masks are not required while fans are seated in their ticketed seats, in private suites, or while actively eating and drinking.

Although not required, the Mariners strongly encourage all fans, ages five and up, to wear masks, regardless of vaccine status, in all areas of the ballpark.

“From the beginning of the pandemic, the Mariners have made the health and safety of our fans, staff and players our top priority. Public health and medical experts have advised us that masks are effective against the spread of COVID, including the highly transmissible Delta variant. Wearing a mask is a simple thing we can all do to help protect ourselves, our families and our community,” said Trevor Gooby, Seattle Mariners Sr. Vice President of Ballpark Operations.

The Mariners have also instituted a mask requirement for all employees working at T-Mobile Park. The employee mandate applies to those working in all public areas of the ballpark, whether indoors or outdoors, regardless of vaccine status.

The Mariners strongly encourage everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated against COVID-19, as it is the best way to protect yourself, your family and our community.
