Pirates Homestand Highlights Friday, July 19 – Thursday, July 25, 2019

The Pirates return to PNC Park for the eighth homestand of the season as the team hosts the Philadelphia Phillies for a three-game series and St. Louis Cardinals for a four-game divisional match-up.

This homestand is highlighted by a weekend celebration of the 1979 World Series Champion Pittsburgh Pirates with a special Free Shirt Friday on Friday, July 19, a vintage bobblehead giveaway and a pregame ceremony on Saturday, July 20.

Friday, July 19, 2019 -- Pirates vs. Philadelphia Phillies (7:05 p.m.)

· Free Shirt Friday: Tonight, the Pirates host another popular Free Shirt Friday as the first 20,000 fans, with paid admission, will receive a Pirates 1979 World Champions tee, presented by Sheetz.

· Dollar Dog Night: As a special thank you to the fans, the Pirates will host Dollar Dog Nights, presented by Sugardale, on select Friday nights. During each Dollar Dog Night, fans can visit any North Shore concession stand throughout the ballpark and purchase regular hot dogs for just one dollar.

· Miller Lite Happy Hour: Tonight, and every Friday Night home game, the Pirates will host a special Happy Hour, presented by Miller Lite, at the Crow’s Nest from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Visit the Arnold Palmer Spiked Bar at the Crow’s Nest for live music by guitarist Michael Todd, as well as discounted cans of Miller Lite, Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy, Blue Moon and Arnold Palmer Spiked.

· 1979 World Series 40th Anniversary Celebration

o Fam-a-lee: Tonight, the Pirates will honor the 1979 World Champion team in a special on-field pregame ceremony including members of the 1979 team.

o Throwback Unis: The Pirates and Phillies will each wear 1979 throwback uniforms in honor of the Pirates 40th anniversary of the championship season.

· Pirates Vintage Bobblehead: Today, the first 20,000 fans, with paid admission, will receive a Vintage 1979 Pirates Bobblehead, presented by Giant Eagle.

· Hunt Auction Show: The Celebration of the Pittsburgh Pirates Autograph and Memorabilia Show, presented by Hunt Auctions, will take place today from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at PNC Park. Sunday, July 21, 2019 -- Pirates vs. Philadelphia Phillies (1:35 p.m.) Kids Day at PNC Park

· Kids Day: Come down early and join the fun as the Family Fun Zone will be open on Federal Street from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lined up outside PNC Park will be inflatable rides, baseball games, face painting, information about the Bucaroos Kids Club, presented by Chick-fil-A, and more.

· Kids Pierogy Figurines: Today, all kids 14 years and under will receive a collection of three Pirates Pierogies including Jalapeño Hanna, Sauerkraut Saul and Cheese Chester, presented by Mrs. T’s.

·Kids Run the Bases: Kids attending today’s game are invited to stick around after to run the bases on the field at PNC Park with the Kids Run the Bases, presented by Rivendale Farms.

· University Day with Penn State: Today, the Pirates will host University Day with Penn State University. All fans who purchase University Day tickets will receive a ticket in one of two special sections and a Pirates/PSU hat. New this year, a portion of each ticket sold through this offer for today’s game will benefit Penn State THON.

· All-Star Teacher Recognition: Today in a pregame on-field ceremony, the Pirates will recognize the All-Star Teachers for the month of July: John Dolphin, Pine Richland Senior High School; Gavin Sikorski, Southmoreland Middle School; and William King, Central Valley High School. These deserving teachers receive tickets in the Pirates Charities Suite for the game, a personalized jersey, and a contribution of $1,000 to be used in their classroom. This season, the Pirates and Pirates Charities teamed up with Chevron and The Grable Foundation with support from Allegheny Intermediate Unit, and Intermediate Unit One to recognize outstanding teachers in our region and give them the thanks and acknowledgement that they deserve for their contributions to our community. The All-Star Teacher award honors teachers who make a significant difference in the lives of students across the region by providing engaging instruction and curriculum, encouraging lifelong learning, and inspiring a passion for education beyond the classroom and into the future.

Monday, July 22, 2019 -- Pirates vs St. Louis Cardinals (7:05 p.m.)

· Pirates Play Ball Team of the Game: The Pirates continue the season-long initiative honoring a youth baseball/softball team of the game during special home games throughout 2019. Tonight, the Pirates will honor the Washington Township Hurricanes 10-and-Under Girls Softball as the Play Ball Team of the Game, presented by Nike.

· Action Math Baseball: Pirates Charities will welcome participants from the 2019 Action Math Baseball World Series to tonight’s game. Over 115 students participated in this event at PNC Park in April, the culmination of Pirates Charities Action Math Baseball program which teaches students math through baseball statistics. The winning team at the World Series was “Supa Hot Fire” from Baldwin Whitehall School District, managed by students Reeya Bista and Jackson Presto, who will be recognized on the field prior to the game and congratulated by Pirates General Manager Neal Huntington who supports the program.

Tuesday, July 23, 2019 -- Pirates vs St. Louis Cardinals (7:05 p.m.)

· Pup Night: Fans can enjoy Bucco baseball with their pooch as the Pirates present one of 12 Pup Nights at PNC Park. · Military Day: Come out to support and honor our brave American military service men and women. The Pirates will wear their Military Day jerseys and special caps.

· On Field Military Ceremony: As part of today’s Military Day efforts, a group from the Helping Heroes organization will be honored during a pregame on-field ceremony and hosted in the Pirates Charities Suite. Helping Heroes, Inc is a community based, non-profit organization founded and administered by veterans and veteran supporters. It provides support services and resources to homeless and near homeless, as well as any other veterans in Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, Ohio and Wetzel counties in order to transition them to, or maintain self- sufficiency.

· 50/50 Raffle: Today’s Pirates Charities 50/50 Raffle, supported by Rivers Casino, will benefit Helping Heroes.

The Pirates Charities 50/50 Raffle, supported by Rivers Casino, will take place during each Pirates home game throughout the season. Raffle ticket prices are two (2) tickets for $5, 5 tickets for $10, 20 tickets for $20 and 80 tickets for $40 with all proceeds benefiting Pirates Charities. Raffle ticket sales close after the last out in the sixth inning. The winning number will be drawn and announced in the 8th inning and the winner will receive 50 percent of the total pot.
