Cody Ponce (RHP) has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis. This is Ponce’s third stint with the Pirates this season (last time from 6/28 to 7/4).

He made his only relief appearance of the season with the Pirates on 6/29 in Colorado and also made two starts (5/25 against the Cubs and 7/3 vs. Milwaukee).

Rodolfo Castro (INF) has been recalled from Double-A Altoona. In 53 games with Altoona this season, Castro has hit .300 (63-for-207) with 11 HR & 41 RBI.

He made 35 starts at third base, 17 at second base and one at shortstop while playing with Altoona.

Castro was also with the Pirates from 4/21-26 and 7/6-17, making his big league debut in Detroit on 4/21.

He went 2-for-4 with two HR and three RBI on 7/11 at New York and is the first player in Pirates history whose first three career hits have been home runs.

Castro has made two starts at third base (4/21 & 7/11) and one at second base (7/10 at NY) with the Pirates.
