Red Sox add right-handed pitcher Seth Blair to club player pool

BOSTON, MA -- The Boston Red Sox today added right-handed pitcher Seth Blair to their Club Player Pool. To make room for Blair, the Red Sox released outfielder John Andreoli.

Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom made the announcement.

The Red Sox have 28 players on their active roster, 39 on their 40-man roster, 60 in their Club Player Pool, and five on the injured list.

Blair, 31, was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the supplemental first round (46th overall) of the 2010 June Draft out of Arizona State University. He spent four seasons in the Cardinals minor league system (2011-14) and most recently pitched in 2019 for High-A Lake Elsinore in the San Diego Padres organization, where he struck out 47 batters in 35.0 innings over 17 appearances.
