BOSTON, MA – Prior to tonight’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays, the Boston Red Sox reinstated right-handed pitcher Heath Hembree from the 10-day injured list.

Hembree, 30, was placed on the injured list on August 2 with right lateral elbow inflammation and has missed the Red Sox’ last 45 games. In 43 appearances this season, the right-hander is 1-0 with two saves, a 4.06 ERA (17 ER/37.2 IP), and 30 scoreless outings. On the road in 2019, he has posted a 2.57 ERA (6 ER/21.0 IP) and held opponents to a .177 batting average in 21 outings. Selected by San Francisco in the fifth round of the 2010 June Draft, Hembree has a 3.55 ERA (100 ER/253.2 IP) over 247 relief appearances between the Giants (2013) and Red Sox (2014-19).
