Star Wars™ Night & More! Ballpark Buzz for Phillies vs. Dodgers Series, 7/15-19

Plus, Carpenter Cup champs honored, PAL media softball game, celebrity athlete first pitches, #TBT & Nemours Kids Run the Bases

The Phillies are taking on the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday, July 15, to Thursday, July 19, at Citizens Bank Park. Below are some of the fan highlights surrounding this four-game series.

1. Before the start of Monday’s 7:05 p.m. game, cheer on local media celebrities as they play ball from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. in honor of PAL Night at the Phillies. Also, the champions of the Phillies Baseball and Softball Carpenter Cup presented by Nike will be honored on-field, and fans can take photos with the LPGA Trophy at the First Base Plaza.

• High school all-stars from Burlington County, which won the 2019 Phillies Baseball Carpenter Cup, and Suburban One League / BAL, which won the Phillies Softball Carpenter Cup, will be recognized. 

• Among those making ceremonial first pitches are Danielle Kang, who won the 2017 KPMG Women’s LPGA Championship, and Natasha Cloud, who plays for the Washington Mystics of the WNBA. Also making a ceremonial first pitch is Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross in honor of PAL Night.

• Fans can also enjoy Miller Lite Monday specials, which include $1 off 24 oz. Miller Lite cans.

2. Tuesday’s game starts at 7:05 p.m. and features music and entertainment surrounding Italian Heritage Night! Also, NBC Sports Philadelphia will broadcast their pregame show live from the Budweiser Rooftop in Ashburn Alley.

• As part of the festivities, South Philly heavyweight boxer Sonny Conto and Harlem Globetrotter Speedy Artis will each make a ceremonial first pitch and Opera Philadelphia will sing the national anthem. Also, The Vivaci Dancers will perform pregame at the Left Field Gate and on-field during the 5th inning, and a Roman Centurion will roam the concourse before the game and appear with the Phanatic in the 7th inning.

• The evening features an Italian Heritage Theme Night ticket offer for 1,000 fans, which includes a coupon for a limited-edition Phillies Italian Heritage Celebration Scarf and a $2 discount off tickets in locations regularly priced $47 and under. Click here for ticket details.

3. Use the Force for Good and be here for the Phillies sixth annual Star Wars™ Night benefiting Stand Up to Cancer taking place during Wednesday’s 7:05 p.m. game.

• The first 6,000 fans that purchase tickets through a Star Wars™ Night Theme Night ticket offer will receive a coupon for a special Phillies Star Wars™ Jedi Jake Arrieta Bobble Figurine giveaway. In addition, $2 from each ticket sold will benefit Stand Up to Cancer. Click here for ticket details.

• Plus, take photos with Star Wars™ characters who will be at the entrance gates. Fans are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Star Wars™ characters.

4. The final game of the series starts at 12:35 p.m. and features retro fun for Phillies #ThrowbackThursday. Other highlights include Nemours Kids Run the Bases, where children 14 and under get to go on the field immediately after the game to run the bases.

• As part of #TBT, all fans will receive an MLB Network Retro Tote Bag. On the field, Phillies players will wear a 1980s-era powder blue uniform and burgundy cap, and ballgirls and the grounds crew will also be dressed in retro outfits. That day’s ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by MLB Network analyst Eric Byrnes, and the PHRESH dance team will perform behind Sections 101/102.

5. This week is also the final chance for fans to bid on new and game-used memorabilia signed by Ryan Howard, as well as current players Bryce Harper, Scott Kingery, Rhys Hoskins and more at the Phillies Charities, Inc. Auction. Bid via the MLB Ballpark App until July 19.

Other need-to-know information: 

Gate Openings: The main gates open 1½ hours prior to game time, with the Left Field Gate/Ashburn Alley and a portion of the Third Base Gate granting access to Pass and Stow open 2 hours before the game. 

Parking Lot Openings: All parking lots open 5 hours prior to game time.  

Broadcast Information: The games on July 15-17 will air on NBCSP and available via live stream for authenticated subscribers on NBC Sports Philadelphia’s MyTeams app. The game on July 18 will air on YouTube. All games will also be broadcast on WIP (94.1 FM) and WTTM (1680 AM - Spanish).
