Texas Rangers to host Mariners, Athletics in seven-game homestand August 12-18

Arlington, Texas— The Texas Rangers will return to Globe Life Field on Friday, August 12, for a seven-game homestand against the Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics.

The Rangers will open the homestand with a three-game series against the Mariners. Games will be played on Friday, August 12, at 7:05 p.m., Saturday, August 13, and 6:15 p.m., and Sunday, August 14, at 1:35 p.m.

The homestand will continue Monday, August 15, when the Rangers host the Athletics in a four-game series. The Rangers and A’s will play at 7:05 p.m. Monday, August 15, through Wednesday, August 17, and at 1:05 p.m. on Thursday, August 18.

University of Texas Night at Globe Life Field will be held on Friday, August 12. Special ticket holders will receive a limited-edition co-branded Texas Rangers – UT cap, presented by Bally Sports Southwest. Tickets for University of Texas Night are available at texasrangers.com/udays.

On Saturday, August 13, former Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler and Rangers front office executive John Blake will be inducted into the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame during a special pre-game ceremony set to begin at approximately 4:45 p.m.

Kinsler and Blake will become the 25th and 26th members of the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame and will be joined on-field by several other Rangers Hall of Famers, including Jim Sundberg, Ferguson Jenkins, Adrián Beltré, and many more. Kinsler’s former teammates Frank Catalanotto, Chris Davis, Craig Gentry, Colby Lewis, Doug Melvin, David Murphy, and Michael Young will also be in attendance.

The 2022 Hall of Famers will be introduced at 5 p.m. and remarks will begin at 5:15 p.m. Michael Young will induct Kinsler, and fellow Rangers Hall of Famer Tom Grieve will induct Blake. The Globe Life Field parking lots will open at 3:30 p.m. and ballpark entrances will open at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The ceremony will be carried live by KRLD 1080-AM, KFLC 1270-AM, and the Rangers English and Spanish radio networks beginning at 5:00 p.m. Bally Sports Southwest will broadcast a Hall of Fame Induction Special that debuts on Wednesday, August 24.

Fans who scan their August 13 game ticket via the MLB Ballpark app when entering Globe Life Field will be eligible to receive a free Candy Digital NFT collectable via email. This Commemorative Ticket Digital Collectible honoring Ian Kinsler’s Texas Rangers Baseball Hall of Fame Induction marks a significant moment in the 2022 season and in franchise history, providing fans a new way to hold onto and showcase memories made at the ballpark.

Also during Hall of Fame Weekend, the first 15,000 fans in the ballpark on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will receive special 50th anniversary giveaway items. Fans will receive a 50th Anniversary Tote Bag, presented by MLB Network on August 12, a 50th Anniversary Michael Young Bobblehead, presented by Chick-fil-A on August 13, and a 50th Anniversary Trucker Cap, presented by Globe Life on August 14.

The Rangers will wear their 1972 home white style retro uniforms for Saturday’s game, and fans will be able to purchase the fourth limited-edition poster in the 50th-anniversary commemorative poster series. Designed by local artist Mary Lo, 250 copies of the poster will be sold for $25.00 each at the Rangers Authentics kiosk on Saturday, with proceeds benefitting the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. 

Oklahoma State University Night at Globe Life Field will be held on Saturday, August 13. Special ticket holders will receive a limited-edition co-branded Texas Rangers – Oklahoma State cap, presented by Bally Sports Southwest. Tickets for OSU Night are available at texasrangers.com/udays.

Tuesday nights at Globe Life Field are Family Fun Tuesdays, offering fans significant savings on tickets, parking, and concessions. Additionally, from 5:15 to 5:45 p.m., two current Texas Rangers players or coaches will be signing autographs for children 13 and under.
