CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox have appointed left-handed pitcher Jared Shuster from Class AAA Charlotte to serve as the 27th player for today’s doubleheader.

Shuster, 25, was optioned to Charlotte yesterday to make room for Jonathan Cannon on the active roster. He has made two relief appearances with the White Sox, allowing one run on five hits with four strikeouts over 6.1 IP (1.42 ERA).

With the move, the active roster increases to 27.
