The Texas Rangers today announced that the club has reinstated left-handed pitcher Jake Diekman from the 15-day disabled list. To make room for Diekman on the active roster, the club has designated left-handed pitcher Cesar Ramos for assignment.

Diekman was placed on the disabled list on July 15, retroactive to July 6, with a lacerated left index finger. He last pitched on July 5 at Boston and had throwing sessions during the club's series in Anaheim. He has gone 1-1 with a 2.73 ERA in 39 relief appearances for Texas this season and ranks among American League relief leaders in holds (T3rd, 19) and opponents average (5th, .165).

Ramos has gone 3-3 with a 6.04 ERA (32 ER/47.2 IP) in 16 games/4 starts with Texas this season. The Rangers have 10 days to trade, release, or outright Ramos to the minor leagues.

With today's transactions, the Rangers now have 39 players on the club's major league roster.
