ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.—The Tampa Bay Rays today released their spring training schedule for 2020, the team’s 12th Grapefruit League season at Charlotte Sports Park. The schedule features 32 official Grapefruit League games, including 16 home games at Charlotte Sports Park. The Rays schedule is subject to change, and game times will be announced at a later date.
The first workout for pitchers and catchers is scheduled for Thursday, February 13. The first full-squad workout is scheduled for Monday, February 17.
The Rays home schedule features six weekend games, including the home opener on Sunday, February 23 vs. the New York Yankees and two games against the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 15. In addition, the Boston Red Sox visit Charlotte Sports Park twice, on Monday, February 24 and Wednesday, March 11.
The Rays open the Grapefruit League schedule on Saturday, February 22 against the Red Sox in Fort Myers. The Rays will play two games against the Washington Nationals, including visiting the NL East opponent on Friday, February 28 for the first time at FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach since the stadium opened in 2017. The Rays host the Nationals at Charlotte Sports Park for the first time since 2016 on Friday, March 20. The Rays will also play the Atlanta Braves four times, including two games at Charlotte Sports Park on Saturday, February 29 and Monday, March 16.
