Reds Homestand Highlights May 27-June 2

Monday, May 27, 2019 – Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates, 1:10 p.m. - Game 1 of day-night doubleheader (Gates open at 11:40 a.m.)

Military Appreciation Day: Today is Memorial Day and the second Reds Military Appreciation Day of the season. Many of today’s ceremonies will honor the men and women of the U.S. military including the playing of “Taps.” All on-field personnel (players, coaches, umpires) will wear a patch with the traditional Memorial Day red poppy flower on their jerseys in addition to a stars & stripes patch on their caps. (Game originally scheduled for 2:10 p.m.)

Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m.: Each year on Memorial Day, Major League Baseball and Clubs observe a solemn pause through the National Moment of Remembrance to honor the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in losing their lives while in service to the United States. All MLB ballparks will pause at approximately 3 p.m. for the National Moment of Remembrance.

Make-up game from March 30: Tonight’s game is the make-up from the March 30 rainout. Fans holding tickets from the rainout game may present their same ticket at the gates tonight with no exchange necessary. Visit reds.com/rainout for more information.

Military Appreciation Day: In honor of Memorial Day, ceremonies will honor the men and women of the U.S. military including a Moment of Remembrance prior to the National Anthem.

Tuesday, May 28, 2019 – Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates, 6:40 p.m. (Gates open at 5:40 p.m.)

RBI Ceremony: Over 250 players and coaches from 18 Reds RBI baseball and softball teams will participate in a pregame parade and be honored on the field. Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) is MLB’s youth outreach program and is designed to give young people from underserved and diverse communities the opportunity to play baseball and softball, while also encouraging academic achievement and success and teaching the value of teamwork and other important life lessons.

Wednesday, May 29, 2019 – Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates, 12:35 p.m. (Gates open at 11:05 a.m.)

CPS Athletes of the Month: Eighteen student-athletes from 11 local high schools will be recognized during pregame ceremonies for being awarded the Cincinnati Public Schools Athlete of the Month for the 2018-19 school year. The CPS Athlete of the Month program is designed to recognize model student-athletes throughout the district that excel on their respective field of play, in the classroom, at their school and in the community.

Friday, May 31, 2019 – Reds vs. Washington Nationals, 7:10 p.m. (Gates open at 5:40 p.m.)

Fireworks Friday: Fireworks show set to a STAR WARS TM soundtrack will begin approximately 10 minutes after the game ends.

STAR WARS TM Characters: As part of STAR WARS TM Night, over 30 characters from the iconic film series will be greeting fans around the ballpark.

Reds Country Athletic Achievement Award: Mason High School’s girls tennis team, boys tennis team and girls swimming team will be honored during pregame ceremonies and receive Reds Country Athletic Achievement Awards for winning the 2018-19 Ohio High School Division I state championships.

Bald Eagle Flight: “Sam” the Bald Eagle from the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden will perform a flight from the roof of the Center-Field Pavilion to the pitcher’s mound during the singing of the National Anthem. Sam began making these flights in 2004 and this is first of five scheduled flights during the 2019 season.

St. Vincent de Paul Canned Food Drive: The Reds and St. Vincent De Paul are partnering to Strike Out Hunger. Donate a minimum of three non-perishable food items at today’s game and receive a free ticket to an upcoming Reds game, limit one ticket per person. Donation barrels will be located outside the main gates on Crosley Terrace from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, June 1, 2019 – Reds vs. Washington Nationals, 4:10 p.m. (Gates open at 2:40 p.m.)

Joe Morgan Bobblehead: As part of the 150th Anniversary celebration, the first 20,000 fans will receive a Joe Morgan bobblehead. Second in a series of six bobbleheads featuring Reds legends who are enshrined in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

St. Vincent de Paul Canned Food Drive: Donate a minimum of three non-perishable food items at today’s game and receive a free ticket to an upcoming Reds game, limit one ticket per person. Donation barrels will be located outside the main gates on Crosley Terrace from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Sunday, June 2, 2019 – Reds vs. Washington Nationals, 1:10 p.m. (Gates open at 11:40 p.m.)

1919 Throwback Uniforms: All Reds players and on-field personnel will wear throwback uniforms from 1919. The Reds wore this style while winning their first World Series title. Details on all the throwback uniforms at reds.com/150.

1919 World Series Ticket: Replica 1919 World Series Ticket to the first 20,000 fans, presented by Cincinnati Type & Print Museum.

A Night of Their Own, May 30: The sixth annual St. Elizabeth Healthcare A Night of Their Own will be held Thursday, May 30 from 5 to 9:30 p.m. at Great American Ball Park. This exclusive event gives women ages 21 and over the opportunity to play like the pros on the field and learn all aspects of the game from Reds coaches, broadcasters and front office executives. Joe Nuxhall bobblehead: The Reds Hall of Fame & Museum continues its collectible bobblehead series in June with Joe Nuxhall. The bobbleheads are free with regular-price museum admission or GABP tour on Saturdays and Sundays in June, while supplies last. There is a limit of one bobblehead per visitor per day.
