RHP Nick Tepesch claimed off waivers by Kansas City

The Oakland A's announced today that right-handed pitcher Nick Tepesch has been claimed off waivers by the Kansas City Royals.

The Oakland A's announced today that right-handed pitcher Nick Tepesch has been claimed off waivers by the Kansas City Royals. Tepesch was designated for assignment Friday when the A's selected Ryon Healy.
Tepesch began the season in the Texas Rangers organization and was 4-2 with a 4.11 ERA in 11 starts at Triple-A Round Rock when he was released on June 4. He was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers to a minor league contract two days later and went 3-0 with a 2.00 ERA in three starts for Triple-A Oklahoma City before he was promoted to Los Angeles June 24. The 27-year-old right-hander started that day at Pittsburgh and allowed five runs on seven hits in 4.0 innings for the loss and was designated for assignment the next day. Tepesch was claimed off waivers by the A's June 27 and went 1-1 with a 5.51 ERA in three starts with Nashville. He is a combined 8-3 with a 3.96 ERA in 17 starts at Triple-A.
