Twins place Adalberto Mejia on 10-day injured list, select contract of Mike Morin

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed left-handed pitcher Adalberto Mejía on the 10-day injured list with a right calf strain (retroactive to May 1). Mejía appeared in 11 games for the Twins, going 0-1 with an 8.74 ERA (11.1 IP, 11 ER), nine walks and 11 strikeouts.

To replace Mejía on the Twins 25-man roster, the Twins have selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Mike Morin (pronounced MORE-in) from Triple-A Rochester. Morin appeared in eight games (1 start) for the Red Wings, going 0-1 with a 2.25 ERA (12.0 IP, 3 ER), one save, three walks and 12 strikeouts. Morin, who turns 28 on Friday, has appeared in 186 career major league games, going 10-8 with a 4.66 ERA (174.0 IP, 90 ER), one save, 49 walks and 166 strikeouts with Los Angeles-AL, Kansas City and Seattle.

The Twins 40-man roster is now at 40.
