Twins place Cron on injured list

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed first baseman C.J. Cron on the 10-day Injured List with right thumb inflammation. Cron has played in 78 games for the Twins, hitting .266 (80-for-301) with 18 doubles, 17 home runs, 54 RBI and a .821 OPS.

To replace Cron on the 25-man roster, the Twins have recalled outfielder LaMonte Wade Jr. from Triple-A Rochester. Wade Jr., who was optioned to Rochester last Saturday after appearing in one game for the Twins, has hit .246 (65-for-264) with 12 doubles and five home runs in 77 games with the Red Wings this season.
