Twins Recall Enns From Rochester; Option Vargas

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled left-handed pitcher Dietrich Enns from Triple-A Rochester and he will start tonight vs. Milwaukee. Enns was recently acquired by the Twins from the Yankees in the Jamie García trade on July 30.

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled left-handed pitcher Dietrich Enns from Triple-A Rochester and he will start tonight vs. Milwaukee. Enns was recently acquired by the Twins from the Yankees in the Jamie García trade on July 30.
Enns, 26, went 1-1 with a 2.29 ERA (39.1 IP, 10 ER), 10 walks and 37 strikeouts in seven starts for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season and pitched 6.0 innings in a losing effort in his lone start for Rochester on August 4. In 111 career appearances (51 starts) over five minor league seasons, he is 27-15 with a 1.89 ERA (395.2 IP, 83 ER), 148 walks and 401 strikeouts.
To make room for Enns on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned first baseman/designated hitter Kennys Vargas to Triple-A Rochester.
