Twins recall Littell from Triple-A Rochester

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Zack Littell from Triple-A Rochester. Littell appeared in 12 games (7 starts) for the Red Wings this season, going 3-2 with a 3.91 ERA (50.2 IP, 22 ER), 17 walks and 58 strikeouts. He made two appearances for the Twins in late May, allowing eight runs on 10 hits in 6.1 innings pitched, with one walk and five strikeouts.

To make room for Littell on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned right-handed pitcher Fernando Romero to Triple-A Rochester. Romero, who has appeared in eight games this season for the Twins, faced four batters yesterday afternoon vs. Seattle, allowing two runs on two hits, with two walks.
