KANSAS CITY -- Following the second game of tonight's doubleheader at Kansas City, the Chicago White Sox optioned right-handed pitcher Dylan Covey to Class AAA Charlotte.
Covey, 26, made his season debut tonight after his contract was purchased from Charlotte prior to the game. He suffered the loss, allowing four runs (one earned) on six hits over 6.0 IP.
Covey is 2-1 with a 2.95 ERA (7 ER/21.1 IP) and 16 strikeouts over four starts with Charlotte this season, limiting opponents to a .208 (15-72) average.
The White Sox active roster returns to 25.
