KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Prior to today’s series finale at Kansas City, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Dylan Covey on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to June 6) with right shoulder inflammation and recalled right-hander Thyago Vieira from Class AAA Charlotte.

Vieira, 26, has gone 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA (1 ER/4.1 IP) in three relief appearances over three stints with the White Sox this season. He is 3-1 with a 4.87 ERA (11 ER/20.1 IP), four saves and 24 strikeouts in 17 relief appearances with Charlotte in 2019.

Covey, 27, is 1-4 with a 4.58 ERA (19 ER/37.1 IP), 22 strikeouts and a .238 opponents average (34-143) in nine games (seven starts) with Chicago this season.
