Prior to tonight's game vs. Houston, the Chicago White Sox returned outfielder Avisaíl García from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 10-day disabled list. García takes the roster spot of third baseman Matt Davidson, who was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Monday (retroactive to August 4) with a right wrist contusion.

García, 26, was placed on the disabled list on July 27 (retroactive to July 26) with a strained ligament in his right thumb. He started in left field last night for Charlotte on a rehab assignment.

García is hitting .303 (103-340) with 17 doubles, 13 home runs, 54 RBI and 46 runs scored in 88 games this season. He was named to his first American League All-Star Team.

Davidson, 26, suffered his injury on August 1 vs. Toronto when he was hit by a Marcus Stroman pitch. He is batting .238 (72-302) with 22 home runs, 51 RBI, 37 runs scored and a .500 slugging percentage in 88 games this season. Davidson's 22 home runs lead the White Sox and rank third among major-league rookies.
