World Series Legacy Project

2023

As part of the Rangers 2023 World Series run, Major League Baseball and the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation partnered on a World Series legacy project to provide a lasting impact in Arlington.

Long-time Foundation partner Mission Arlington Mission Metroplex, led by 86-year-old Founder Tille Burgin, was deemed the deserving beneficiary of this year’s project for the year-round support they provide low-income residents in Arlington and its surrounding communities.

With the World Series legacy project funds, Mission Arlington Mission Metroplex will expand its medical clinic significantly, allowing it to provide necessary medical services at no cost to thousands more patients each year.

The Dr. Bob Mann Medical Clinic has been operating for decades, offering emergency aid services to nearly 2,000 people daily, including providing emergency funds, food, medical and dental services, clothing, furniture, counseling, and more.

Through the MLB Together platform, the Rangers and MLB are supporting the medical clinic, which includes expansion to seven patient rooms and a triage room. The funds will be specifically designated towards the clinic’s new pediatric rooms, one of which will be decorated with Rangers marks to honor the team's 2023 Fall Classic appearance.
