25 years ago, Ken Griffey Jr. hit his first career home run

Yes, back on April 10, 1989, a 19-year-old Ken Griffey Jr. hit the first of his 630 career home runs. It was Griffey's sixth game and the first pitch he ever saw at the Kingdome. If you listen to the video, he barely gives Gary Thorne enough time to finish an introduction.

The day also marked the first of many smiles we'd see from The Kid.

Happy 25th, Junior.
