A double amputee took BP with the Rays because humans can do just about anything
Dave Stevens has taken batting practice with the Rays three times. He's gotten to know the players and coaches well, and now he's just one of the guys.
Nevermind the fact that he's a double amputee who has no legs.
Stevens attended his third workout with Tampa Bau on Wednesday at Tropicana Field as a guest of manager Joe Maddon and got to hang out with Luke Scott, Matt Moore and others.
He then threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game and received a standing ovation from the Trop crowd.
"I love meeting people like him because it reminds me how fortunate I am and how I shouldn't take all this for granted," Moore said. "Dave's a great guy and it's cool to see him inspiring other people."
