Adam Greenberg gets surprise second chance from Marlins on Today Show

Adam Greenberg’s MLB career consists of one plate appearance and one hit by pitch. Not even an official at-bat. Theoretically, he’s a center fielder – but he never actually set foot in the outfield.
The Connecticut native reached the Majors back in '05 as member of the Cubs, entering a July 9 game as a pinch-hitter. He’d finally made it. Until a Valerio De Los Santos fastball hit him in the head, knocking Greenberg out of the game for good ... or so we thought.
With the help of baseball fan Matt Liston, thousands of supporters and Marlins president David Sampson, Greenberg will get another crack at the dish. The Marlins surprised the 31-year-old on Thursday's Today Show, signing him to a one day contract. He'll face the Mets on Tuesday, Oct. 2. Seven years later, Moonlight finally got the green light.
