After starting the season in domes, the Rays will play their first outdoor game on Monday
Rays to play outdoors for the first time this season

When the Rays take the field at Yankee Stadium on Monday evening, it will be the first time the team has experienced the wonders of the natural world since April 5.
OK, not really. But it is the first time the Rays have played an outdoor game this season. They played 12 of their first 19 games at home in the domed Tropicana Field. The Rays' two away series thus far have been at Rogers Centre in Toronto and Marlins Park in Miami, both of which feature retractable roofs that were closed for all seven games.
On Monday, that comes to an end. The Rays will be breathe fresh air and feel the soft caress of a gentle breeze. They'll even be able to experience the last glimpses of the sun's rays.
Thankfully, the Rays are used to domes. They're homey. Which is why the team did not respond to the stretch the way some people did after getting stuck in a dome.
Who knows, though? The Rays come off of the indoor marathon tied for first place in the American League East and winners of five straight. Maybe they should play every game sheltered from the outside world and change their name to the Tampa Bay Morlocks.
