A.J. Burnett got a Bat-cycle and a hat-tip from Joey Votto for his last regular-season start

A.J. Burnett gets Bat-cycle for last start

After 17 years in MLB, A.J. Burnett is finally set to hang 'em up at the end of the 2015 season. So, with his Pirates set to play in the NL Wild Card Game presented by Budweiser on Wednesday night at 8 ET on TBS, Burnett took the hill at PNC Park on Saturday for the final regular-season start of his long career.

The occasion called for a celebration and everyone in Burnett's life chipped in.

First, his agent and money manager presented him with a fancy Bat-cycle in the players' parking lot on Friday night:

Then, on Saturday, Burnett's kids threw out the ceremonial first pitches ahead of their dad's start:

Finally, when Burnett took the hill in the top of the first, longtime opponent Joey Votto honored his adversary with an admirable tip of the cap:

We're sure Burnett's happy with the celebration he's got but would love to follow it up with a parade in Pittsburgh a month from now.
