The Delly Dog and the LeBron burger: This week in Minor League Baseball promotions

Akron RubberDucks debut Cavs-themed concessions

There are three certainties in life: death, taxes and most importantly, Minor League promotions. MiLB.com's Ben Hill has the inside scoop on the last of those certainties, and he'll be sharing a taste with us and you each and every week. Check out a unique upcoming promo below and read his full recap of the week's best promotions right here. You can follow Ben on Twitter @Bensbiz.

The Akron RubberDucks are playing a home game Tuesday night. This Double-A baseball contest will be a tough sell considering that, 40 minutes to the north, the Cleveland Cavaliers are hosting Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

But Akronites who opt to watch the RubberDucks this evening can still support the Cavs via consumption of the "Delly Dog." The team debuted this $6 specialty frank last week, in honor of the "grit, determination and playmaking" of Cavaliers guard Matthew "Delly" Dellavedova. Guard your arteries.

The "Stadium Mustard" listed above is not a generic condiment but a trademarked brand of brown mustard dear to the hearts of Clevelanders. Its inclusion in the Delly Dog is of paramount importance, and not just because it eschews the "golden state" assumed by most such condiments.

"We wanted to include an assortment of 'deli' meat as a fun note but also show how we are 'ALL IN' by using Northeast Ohio's legendary Stadium Mustard on top to bring it all together," said RubberDucks food and beverage director Brian Manning.

"Delly's exciting play has captured the blue-collar work ethic of Northeast Ohio, and we thought this was a fun, tasty way to honor him," added RubberDucks general manager Jim Pfander, an Akron native.

The RubberDucks are no strangers to honoring hometown hoops heroes in fun and tasty ways. Last July, when it was announced that Akron native LeBron James was taking his talents back to Cleveland, the team unveiled the "Return of the King Burger": a four-ounce patty topped with creamy Boursin cheese, a king crab blend and "wine and gold" coleslaw featuring champagne vinaigrette:

Here's hoping that, going forward, the RubberDucks don't strictly limit themselves to Cavaliers-themed specialty items. A "Terry Frank-ona," anyone? Or perhaps a Corey "Klub" Sandwich? The possibilities are extensive if not necessarily endless.
