A's closer Sean Doolittle trolls the Tigers over David Price trade

A's closer Sean Doolittle trolls the Tigers over David Price trade

Remember when the big trade that everyone was talking about was Billy Beane and the Athletics acquiring Jeff Samardzija from the Cubs for Addison Russell. Beane supposedly told Cubs GM Theo Epstein that he'd just gotten Barry Larkin.

In the wake of that trade, Tigers pitcher and sometimes flame of model Kate Upton Justin Verlander announced that the A's made the trade because they were worried about the Tigers.

Fast forward to the trade deadline and that Shark deal isn't even in the rearview mirror, anymore. The Red Sox dealt Lester to the Athletics along with Jonny Gomes for back-to-back Home Run Derby champion Yoenis Cespedes. Boston also sent John Lackey to the Cardinals for Joe Kelly and Allen Craig.

Not to be outdone, the Tigers joined in on the fun, acquiring David Price from the Rays in a three-way deal that sent Austin Jackson to the Mariners. When the deal was announced, A's closer Sean Doolittle took to Twitter to give Verlander and the Tigers a taste of their own medicine.

October is going to be so much fun.
