Astros' 63rd win earns fans $4 million in furniture

Anyone who has watched TV in the Houston area in the past thirty years is probably familiar with Jim McIngvale, also known as Mattress Mack. His ubiquitous ads for his Texas furniture store have been promising to "save you money" since it was cool to feature mildly dangerous live animals in commercials:
Early in the season, McIngvale bet that the Astros, who haven't won more than 60 games since 2010, would lose 100 games this year as well. If they didn't, he promised to refund the first 500 customers who spent more than $6,300 at his store. Lo and behold, the Astros beat the Athletics on Sunday, recording their 63rd win of the season and forcing Mattress Mack to pay up:
At GF, the customer is ALWAYS the winner! Congrats @Astros for #Win63, Congrats to our great customers, over $4,000,000 will be refunded!!
- MattressMack (@MattressMack) September 8, 2014This is hardly the first time Mack has had to make good on one of his wagers. In February, he lost about $700,000 after the AFC and NFC championships didn't go his way, and refunded a cool $7 million after he picked the Broncos to win the Super Bowl:
And despite his incredible advertising, he didn't even win a 2000 "ad-off" on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. The talk show host pitted one of his "Save You Money" spots against one of rival Hilton Furniture's, but Mattress Mack lost, despite attempting to bribe O'Brien with some kind of levitating recliner:
Who will Mattress Mack pick to win the World Series? Whoever it is, you probably want to go the other way.
