Attention all mascots of MLB: The Oriole Bird is now on Twitter

MLB's mascots welcome Oriole Bird to Twitter

It used to be that Major League mascot was strictly an on-field job, requiring little more than team spirit and the occasional hot dog cannon. But times have changed. It's the 21st century -- the age of passing rain delays using Snapchat -- and a mascot's presence needs to extend beyond the stadium. 

The Oriole Bird, ever a bird of the people, understands this all too well. And so, on Dec. 9 in the Year of our Lord 2015, he decided to go where few fake animals have gone before: Twitter. 

 

Playing it safe with some classic bird humor -- smart move. Before long, he was being welcomed to the club by other members of MLB's mascot fraternity:

Oriole Bird wanted to make one thing clear: He could dish it out as well as he could take it:

Not even Wally was safe from his wit:

He even helped Mariner Moose find a hobby:

Sluggerrr, however, pushed him a little too far:

Eventually, though, he started making friends:
