Barry Zito, David Lynch and Russell Brand, together at last

and David Lynch, the uncompromising auteur director who brought you this ...

are a weird enough combination as it is. Throw in, of all people, Giants starter Barry Zito, and you've got one of the most unlikely trios I've heard of in a while.

The three united for one cause on Monday: to endorse Transcendental Meditation, a relaxation and concentration technique that all three use and advocate. They came to San Francisco's Burton High School to talk about it and lead a demonstration, which led to the San Francisco Chronicle capturing this incredible image:

Brand also referred to Zito as "a baseball Jesus Christ" which actually sounds like a fitting nickname for the lefty who combines hippie sensibilities and Christianity.
