Baseballs don't actually taste good, reports master home run catcher

Contrary to what you might assume, the cork, rubber, yarn and leather tastes of MLB baseballs are not pleasing when mixed with mashed potatoes.

That’s what we learned Monday night from this Rockies season ticket holder, who had just caught his 36th career home run -- which happened to be the first of pitcher Alex White's career.

So what does one do with all those balls? The fan said he tried to make a potato-and-baseball concoction with his blender, but surprisingly that didn't work out.

"Most of them I give away," he said.
