Batboy Chronicles: Charles di Giovanni was crucial to Dodgers '55 World Series title

The 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers featured Roy Campanella, Duke Snider, Gil Hodges, Pee Wee Reese, Jackie Robinson and revered starter Don Newcombe. Those superstars each did their part between the lines that season so the organization could capture its very first World Series title.
But, whether it was keeping things loose in the clubhouse, starting spirited chants in the dugout or leading The Boys of Summer in their post-championship victory parade (as seen in the above image), batboy Charles di Giovanni was also a true champ.
Legendary broadcaster Vin Scully even gave di Giovanni a shoutout Monday during his Twitter chat on @Dodgers:
.@zgreenz The biggest clubhouse personality was a bat boy named Charly di Giovanni. He was a character, and we called him the brow. #AskVin

Here's another photo of "The Brow" posing in a team picture with the 1955 sign.
And that one goes out to all the batboys ...
